To Reserve Your Stay at the Inn

We are excited to have you staying with us at the Mason Cottage!  To reserve your stay, a deposit of 50% of the total cost of the reservation is required to secure your reservation at the Mason Cottage, Cape May B&B. To do so, this amount will be charged to the specified credit card with the balance due upon arrival. A two night minimum stay on the weekends, during the summer-season and holidays is required.
 

Please note: In the case of a 1 (ONE) night stay reservation, we require 100% of the amount of the room (including applicable taxes) as the deposit.  

Cancellations & Refunds

Making a reservation at a bed and breakfast is not the same as making a reservation at a hotel.  Due to our small size at the Mason Cottage, cancellations affect us significantly.  A last minute cancellation gives us little opportunity to re-book that room. For this reason;

 

We request that you contact us more than 10 (TEN) days prior to your check-in date, to let us know of your changes.  At that time, your deposit will be refunded, less a $25 cancellation fee.

 

No-Shows or any reservation cancellation received 10 (TEN) or less days prior to the check-in date, will result in the loss of the deposit. 

 

For 1 (ONE) night stay reservations:  'the deposit' = 100% of the amount of the room paid (including applicable taxes)

Reservations for two or more rooms have a 30-day cancellation policy. In this case, cancellations received 30 (THIRTY) or less days prior to the check-in date, will result in the loss of all room deposits.

Check-In & Check-Out Times

Check-in time is from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  If you are unable to make it by 6 PM, please give us a call a few hours in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements for your arrival.

 

Check-out time is by 11:00 AM.

Parking at the Mason Cottage

Like many Cape May B&B's, there is no on-site parking at the Mason Cottage, but there is always street parking available. Your best bet for parking is anywhere along Columbia Avenue (it is one of the few streets in Cape May that is not metered). While it may be more difficult to find a parking spot during holidays and summer months, once you find a parking spot, leave your car there, as Cape May was made for walking. The Mason Cottage is located in the heart of downtown Cape May - one block to the beach and promenade and a block and half from the fine shops on Washington Street Mall.

 

Note: There is an unloading zone (curb is painted yellow) directly in front of the inn where you can pull your car up to (put on your flashers) and unload your luggage.  You can only leave your car  here (with the flashers on) while you are unloading your car - you will need to move your car after you bring your luggage into the inn. 

No Open Flame Policy - We Are a Non-Smoking Inn

For the safety of everyone in the inn, the use of open flames (candles, incense, matches, lighters etc.) is STRICTLY prohibited. Any guest found using candles, incense, matches, lighters etc. will be asked to leave the inn without a refund. Please note – the inn has a very sensitive hardwired fire alarm system – the slightest amount of smoke will cause the alarm to go off and the fire department to be called.

For the same reasons mentioned above in our “No Open Flame” policy, there is a strict non-smoking policy at the Mason Cottage, Cape May Bed and Breakfast. This includes inside the inn, on the veranda, as well as the grounds around the inn. Any guest found smoking in their room will be asked to leave the inn without a refund. We do want to say “thank you” to all our guests who have been so thoughtful by not smoking while on property!

Children at the Inn - Extra Fee for 3rd Person

Well-behaved children 12+ are always welcome at the Mason Cottage.   The Franklin Suite can accommodate up to one (1) child, 12+ years and older.  Please understand, any reservation made with a child under 12 years of age, will not be honored.

Rooms are based on double occupancy. For guests bringing a 3rd person, there is a $49/plus tax additional occupant charge per person/per day.  The only guest room that can accommodate a 3rd person is the Franklin Suite.  

Repeat Guest Book Direct* Discount

We love our repeat guests at the Mason Cottage!  To show our appreciations, our repeat guests always receive $20 off/per night (increased from $10/per night, as of April 2023). While this discount can be used at any time during the year (and can be used each time you make a reservation), it can not be combined with any other offers or discounts. 

To receive your discount, give us a call at 609-884-3358 or book online* at www.TheMasonCottage.com and mention you are a 'Mason Cottage Repeater' (please use the last name & address that you used previously so that we can locate you in our reservation system).  If we can't find you in our reservation system, we regret that we will not be able to apply the discount.  In the case of a one night stay, please call directly to receive discount. 

*Please note:  We are unable to apply any Repeat Guest Discounts to guests who booked through 3rd party websites (ie bedandbreakfast.com, Expedia, Booking.com, hotels.com etc.), as you reserved & paid through their website.  

Methods of Payment Accepted

Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Travelers Cheques, cash and personal checks are accepted.  Rates are subject to applicable taxes and can change without notice. All rates are based on double occupancy.

Pet Policy

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets at the Mason Cottage.

Security & Privacy Policy

Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address.

We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. We may collect personally identifiable information when you visit our website. We also automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information and the page(s) you visited. We will not sell your personally identifiable information to anyone.

Please note:  The innkeepers, Rochelle and Eric, have one dog (Brady) on premise.  Brady is super sweet and loves people!
